Bear vs Death Tank

Death Knight, I mean.

I feel a lot more sturdy in Turny's teddy bear form and this could be blamed to the fact that I am visually larger than my Death Knight..perhaps. Klupty is just a skinny Blood Elf and he was a Blood Elf because he just happened to be the next toon on my list and I did not have a Blood Elf. Psh go figures.

Death Knight Tanking:

I like being frost. Klupty has always been frost and the dirty little reason was that I thought Hungering Cold was REALLY cool. Come on, you can freeze EVERYTHING around you? You purge the ground of all heat, that just sounded ..so cool! I have yet to find a really good use for this as I have not have mobs stray away from me, except for when I am questing and maybe TEN additional mobs on top of the five I am fighting aggro me and I need just a little bit of time to manage their death order. Howling Blast is also really nice, it attacks EVERTHING in range of it automatically so there are no aiming green circles and the damage is usually just a smidgen under my Frost Strike.

I try not to pull using Death and Decay. This ability just takes up way too many runes. If I pull a big group I usually pull with Howling Blast. Yes I know I can use Icy Touch, then the Plague Strike (or whatever the hell that other disease is), then Epidemic (or whatever the hell the "spread the disese" button is called), THEN Blood Boil, I could, but with crazy DPS who just can not wait, Howling Blast is pretty safe. With super high DPS I will use DND just to get that extra lock on Aggro but usually is unneeded. Were all those run-on sentences? Doesn't matter.

Afterwards it's just cycling my Rune Strike and Frost Strikes and triggering Howling Blast and Blood Boil on everything and you know what? The damage is not bad at all. At level 77 Klupty pulls a 1300 dps as a tank and is usually overall damage just because of the AOE-Happy nature of the way I spend my rotation.

For the record I have seen people who dared to sport ilvl226 gear and do less than 1200 dps. Come on, really? If you perfected a rotation, even with ilvl187 you can pull of much more. But DUH we all know that...anyways.

So tanking on a DK is pretty basic stuff, though I haven't been on in a while to get him more levels we shall see.

Teddy Bear Tanking:

Ahh Turny, he has almost double the health and double the armor of Klupty and I think the healing I receive from crits is very very nice! I think I prefer the teddy bear mechanics to the DK ones because I gain rage from attacking and also from being attacked!

Yes, we need to build up rage but once it builds up aggro is pretty much stuck on you. Maul with the glyph hits pretty hard and hits multiple targets. Mangle is a nice "pow pow" attack that has a nice oomph feeling to it and of course Swipe is probably my favourite spell to spam in the entire game, it's just so...spammable!

We have growls, faerie fires that do damage, a charge, an emergency heal yourself while increasing your health button and also Berserk which is pretty much ...awesomeness!

Though for me it boils down to how all these AOE attacks feel. See, with a DK if there is even a little bit of lag it just feels like button pushing. I like having all my attacks land at the same time I pressed the button for it, just something that bugs me. Also I sometimes find myself wanting Howling Blast to get off of its damn cooldown faster and really...my mind isn't devoted enough to calculate exactly how many runes each attack uses and exactly which runes are on cooldown. Heck I barely look at my runes, I find that when I'm on my Death Knight that I tend to be staring at my action bar waiting for something to be pressable.

With a Teddy Druid, I can at least WATCH the fight while spamming Swipe and expecting when to use Mangle and Maul!

And of course on the other side of the mirror is an INSANE Resto Druid!

Death Knight Ding

I lied. My Jewelcrafting slave Klupty the Death Knight has been levelling hard! Well not this week anyways, but as of last weekend he is halfway to 78!

Then the cycle begins. Collect an ass load of emblems and run H TOC everyday until I have every single plate piece and useful item possible then off to the next toon. Klupty will be the fourth toon ready for the next patch.

Though I do not feel his gear is going to be "maxxed" out by patch 3.3 but that is ok. I will probably be upgrading my Warlocks gear first, Warlock over Hunter. Then Druid. Then Hunter. Hmm, though Resto druid would be getting a lot of healing work in the new dungeons *yummy*

OK BAI

Whisper: H BM?

Long long time ago...

Whisper : H BM?

Me: What?? I'll just ignore them.

MONTHS and months later I realized that someone was trying to invite me to run Heroic Black Morass with them.

I was level 72 at the time. First fresh Hunter. The only instance I had ACTUALLY ran with an actual group was Sunken Temple. All the rest, I was accompanied by my friend's GODLY level 39 warrior, and or GODLY level 70 Rogue (OMG 70!)

I was nowhere close to Black Morass, heck I didn't even know that the Cavern of Time had instances in it.

Fresh. Nooby. First character.

What I had really thought when I saw that odd question was: "Why is he asking me if I am an H Beast Mastery? How did they know my spec? What's the H for?"

Heroic Beast Master?

Yeah..we are heroes in this world...and I am specced just so.

Weird!

I was not very social while levelling my Hunter, and it was not until Outlands until I began running Auchinduon to level up and blast into Northrend where I just quested. I do not remember doing a lot of Dungeons.

I had grinded enough Heroic Rep for the Rep-Epics, before the time of Ulduar and Purple Rain and that was it. In the background, Truny my warlock was slowly levelling until one day Turby took a break and Truny took over.

Truny was way more social. She received the dungeon achiements before my Hunter, and had cleared more raid content (albeit very little but still more) than Turby as well.

Maybe because Warlock dps was undisputable.

Then came the storm. And a new tier. Now we see people doing 4-5k dps just doing nothing, as I saw on my meters a few days ago standing around blasting bosses.

That was scary. 3k dps is my max. Anything higher is asshattery.

Ok once again I had lost my train of thought and original topic.

Oh yes.

When on my "lower" level toons nowadays, I learned to spam for additional group members using the ACTUAL name of instances. Such as "LFM Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul, Draktharon Keep".

Because not everyone knows what the hell all these stupid acronyms are!!

BFD: Best Friend's Dead??
SFK: Shut the Fuck Kup
DTK: In't it TKO??

Yes I'm weird making up acronyms for everything...more on that later!

Death Knight Tanking

It seems every single time I log into my Death Knight Klupty, I go and do some respeccing.

Klupty's respec fee is up to 20 Gold now. That is a LOT, considering all my other toons have maybe respecced ONCE.

I had tried out blood (apparently back in October 4th), and had cleared Old Kingdom (apparently, when I did not get the achievement yesterday), and didn't like it.

Sure my HP is always full but it felt...odd compared to frost.

So I respecced back to Frost DPS back then.

I then respecced to Frost Tanking, just so I can be of "some use" while levelling, at least having a chance to join an instance.

I read a comment yesterday which made me cringe: "I'll tank. I'm frost".

Oh. My. God.

I am frost too...but this guy as I checked his Armory...because I had a bad vibe from him, had all his talents in Frost. None devoted to Anticipation or Blade Barrier..err....

ANYWAYS.

So, respecced frost and did some tanking and felt quite squishy. We never wiped nor did I ever die but still felt squishy, but at least: Progress.

Klupty has zoomed from 72 to 76 now! AIY!

On a side note: With the same group, I tried out Turny's Bear tanking and I felt much safer behind all his HP, which by the way is at 31k, 27k armor and 37% dodge now. And also swipe and maul is OP. I love swiping! Swiper No Swiping!

Sorry!

MAYBE I will try to tank some heroics with Turny now. I mean gear-wise I am on average well over 200, the maximum back in the day and just....maul and swipe and lacerate and sh*t, right?

BAI!

Dual-Usefulness: Eliminate The Swords

For those of us Non-L33t players, we use LFG to look for others through a process called PUG'ing. Pick Up Group.

Just the name of it: Pick Up. What do we pick up in real life? Trash. We pick up trash and garbabe, we also pick up people who are down, the useless, we pick them up from the darkness, from their uselessness. Groups are just Picked Up randomly because we don't have godly guild members or friends to join up with. Ok i'll stop.

See, what if EVERYONE was your friend?

PUGs in my server, yes MY server not "OUR" server.... are usually fine. Only once in a while will you see someone just along for the ride and they usually get the point when they do not receive heals or whatever.

What was I talking about? *Looks at title*

Oh. Right.

So when we join this "Looking for (A Pick Up) Group" Channel. What do we usually see.

Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword and Plus. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. ShieldOMFGINVITETHEM. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Plus (That's me, I ONLY HEAL). Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword. Sword.

So with my current trees: Restoration and Feral (Tanking) I have Dual Specced to anything BUT DPS. Thou shalt not wieldeth the Sword. I will be one of the rare Shield and Plus. I know ONE person who puts themselves into LFG like this, a Pally Tank that Turny grew up with, running BRD everyday until we were high enough to leave the Old Town.

I know some people are using their Swords to find either their Shield or Plus gear, but really...try it out!

Turny the Plus-Shield

Turny the Bear Tank Updates

Sorry for the stream of posts but I would forget to do this otherwise.

EMBLEMS OF CONQUEST!

Let us once again use our magical Bronze Dragonflight powers, and turn back time ohh say to July 2009.

Ooh la la, us non-part-of-a-raiding-guild-people, meaning ME had just taken a peek at the Emblem of Conquest vendor items and thought "Wow, how strong could this stuff be. It'd be nice to have a piece of this, if not just to be stronger, to have more power but have nothing to do with such power".

Once again, my Druid was sitting at level 20ish at this time. Wait really? Maybe 40s, I couldn't have gotten him to 80 so fast...hmm...anyways...

SO: Emblem of Conquests, I saved up 58 of these babies and bought a Chestguard of the Lost Vanquisher, or something like that.

Then, excited with this piece of purple word thing in his hot little paws, Turny goes and buys his T9 Feral Chest.

Whoa stop right there.

Not even his parents have TWO pieces of T8 Chests. Even though there is only one variety for Hunters and Warlocks....but.....but......I am so useful now!

I tried on this Chest, and it added a bit of Agility, and like 129 Stamina, since I was wearing some random blue chest, and some dodge which was nice.

However my emblem count went to 0 at that point and I missed them. So I returned the chest and TRIED to return the Armor Token as well and as I returned it all I got back was 5Gold.

Uhhh....oh....too bad looks like I'm keeping this after all.

So yes, Turny' s Feral set has its first "higher level" item, which is that Chest!

Actually I lie.

I had the highest possible non-raiding gear already. The H ToC leathers. ALL of them. And Marrowstrike. Well...

(I should really try it out in action. On paper it looks good but....I could fail terribly and not taunt/create aggro/tank properly)

At least it's one more "ewomfgwtfl2p blue gear" off my chest. Literally.

Ahh Blue Gears. I shall continue talking about it here as I am too lazy to start another post.

Sure you don't need Epics. As long as an item is properly itemized you are good to go. Of course if the boss hits harder than the numbers your blues generated then you might need to upgrade. You know? Ya know?

But why?

And honestly, nowadays, epics aren't so "epic". They rain and shower us with them yet we all want that 1-2% betterment. Who doesn't?

Prime Example: (Actually I have no idea what I'm talking about now)
In my healing form I was running with these Bracers. Was running the daily COS and they dropped and I realized they were better than the TOC (or wherever I got my old ones from) bracers.

Good job, that went well until I was scoping out the AH yesterday and for a measley 250G I saw under the Leather Section: This Bracer

Every single stat on it was higher than the old one. The overall average improvement in stats in the new bracers is 20%.

20% is a lot. But just for the bracers, for my character as a whole my spellpower went up by maybe 0.55% and my mana regen by maybe 1.5%.

So NOW, I can play 1% WORSE because the numbers in my new gear IMPROVE me, or I can play EVEN BETTER so that I can feel like my improvement is MORE than that 1%.

Yeah? See?

Of course it all adds up.

This makes sense, as when I first dinged 80 my Spellpower was a measley 1100. And sometimes my HoTs can't keep up and they don't do all the work for me. It was probably at the 1500 mark where they started to take over and I would run around EVEN MORE, and now at the 2200+ mark as I said before, we have FOUR dps.

The special case with those bracers, was that EVERY stat was an increase so the decision was effortless: "Buy now"

But when we lose an important stat, we begin to change our playstyles, even if you don't realize it to accomodate for it. Think on that. Let's say you traded your Crit stat completely for a Haste stat because along with the item, SP or AP had increased..hmm?

ANYWAYS BAI!

Turny the Whatever I Was Talking About Before

T9 Set Clicks

I had postponed one of my posts for a while because I had to resize images and whatever, and I think last month when I actually posted it back up, the in-clicks to my blog had increased dramatically.

How did you get in here?

Was it that you wanted a T9 Gear review? Because that is what most of my visitors are coming from now!

Well, sorry I have not taken this game seriously anymore, I mean..the bonuses are nice and all but we can get along fine just doing whatever right?

The funny thing is, that post was to say how HOLY UGLY most of the T9 were ESPECIALLY for Alliance. Right, they look like football players which I guess would appeal to American audiences?? I have no idea what they are interested in anymore.

From a Japanese perspective, we are so used to armor sets with 10 ft glowing wings of awesome, and multi-horned spiked helms and glowing diamond and jewel armors and giant massive extravagant weapons that yeah....enough said.

But just general design. I think the T9 is uglier than Northrend Gear in general no? Sure they have no color, but they don't make you look like a bloated egg? What's a bloated egg...?

Anyways yeah...so I know...I know how you got here!!

Creepy

Ps* Oh so I just tried Googling "Wow T9 Review" and this site is the third link that shows up, I apologize, but you do get to see ..... get to know... the truth!

Solid Tanking - Redefined

Ok tanks, let's just pretend for a second that I am healing you, yay!!

Ok! Well, since my Rejuvenation is MORE than enough to keep you alive I will also..just for insurance sake roll a Lifebloom, yes A lifebloom, any more than one stack is overkill on top of the existing Rejuvenation.

Good good. Uhh now I stand around.

YEAH RIGHT!

*Poof* Where'd the tree go?

Oh it's a kitty cat! With THREE buttons on his action bar: Faerie Fire, Swipe, and Rake (Or is it Rip? Err, it's the one that does the initial Bleed, not the finisher).

*Ding*

Oh the Lifebloom has ended, and your health has not changed. That is ok, Rejuvenation still has about ten seconds left.

Things are now dead. Overheal, overheal, overheal, overheal.

Recount Damage Done for Last Fight:

DPS Person: 136,624 (2.842 dps)
DPS Person: 92,242 (2,634 dps)
Tank: 91,779 (2,140 dps)
DPS Person: 55,563 (1,204 dps) GTFO, no just kidding you just dinged 80. But work on it!
Turny: 2,536 (14.3 dps)

HELL YEAH!

Heck everyone can be so solid nowadays, and with the upcoming changes, with no worries to defense cap and all that other mumbo jumbo...and with the Stamina redesign (Hmm a Warlock with 35k HP is enticing.....).....who cares??

Why Invite Me For?

I did say more on it and more it is!

The rogue that kept inviting me to a party without a single word. He just kept sending the invite, the invitation window would disappear then he would send it again.

I thought by the second or third time he would actually want to whisper me and tell me where the hell we were going to go adventure yes? I mean, I really was only in LFG for two instances but it matters to know WHERE we were going still right?

I could have asked him "What are we running?", but why should I?

If someone doesn't even have the decency to tell you where they want to go play, why go play?

Was this person so leet and arrogant they didn't feel the need to speak?

Now that I have stalked them, they are very Ulduar and above geared and would probably have pulled 5k dps with ease but still!

Be as strong as you want you will still DIE with no heals. End of story.

See, the invite button is RIGHT NEXT to the "Send Message" button. And is typing H VH...THREE FUCKING LETTERS so hard? Or if it was the other instance H COS...OH NO!!! FOUR LETTERS GOD FORBID!!

One could argue: You are in LFG, you know that you will get invites, why not just join, since you would have wanted to run those anyways?

Oh yeah? Then maybe, just maybe I would like to know WHICH instance we are doing, then maybe I can start making my way there and know if I am nearby or not? And there is also the chance that you are a level 5 inviting me to run you through something, or to perform my role in a dungeon that I did not want to run.

Seriously, maximum, four letters and a space.

The closest real world example I can think of currently is:

It is like calling someone and going "Ok, let's go, I know you want to".

Uhh, where? Vegas? New York City? The Mall? The Post Office? Does that work?

But no, calling involves words and speech and communication. Hmmm

I will be back.

Sarcastic or Not? Confused.

The daily yesterday was Violet Hold.

I joined LFG and immediate a rogue invites me to party without a word. I ignore it. The invitation fades and all is good but he invites me again. Ignore. Fade. Invite. Ignore. Fade.

Then someone else asks me with ACTUAL WORDS if I would like to heal the daily and I said sure and off we went.

That was an odd start to the evening. More on this later. Hello I am not even going to BOTHER asking "what the fuck are you inviting me for" anymore. If you don't want to initiate conversation, fine.

ANYWAYS.

I was really laggy through the run, due to my computer wanting to do something Annoying. But the run was fine as it is ONLY H VH, I mean I was dpsing kitten form while the tank was not taking any damage *cough*.

So, restart, install LONG updates, go take a shower come back. Computer is ready.

I log in to do the other daily oh actually for the Conquest Mark or whatever, but a friend asks if I want to heal Naxx 25?

Sure! The only "raid" I have healed was OS 10 and Naxx 25 is my next step right? Indeed!

Off we go, get group together and we venture off into the Spider Area.

Of course, some DPS go splat before I can get off a swiftmend, that seems normal.

But on the first boss, Anub'rekan (??? Right? I don't pay attention to names??), we downed him smoothly no one died but all during the fight people were going:

"Wipe it"
"Who let this guy tank"
"WTF"

And some of us are really confused at this point, were they just being sarcastic that everyone was super over-geared anyways? But I was still confused. I looked around at that point, everyone was at 100% health, all the adds were being tanked fine (I think) and the boss went down smoothly. What was wrong? I don't get it.

Weird.

We didn't finish anyways because...yeah long story and don't want to type it.

BYE!

Turny the Teddy Bear

I have decided.

Turny is going Bear, not Chicken.

I remember the good old days, tanking with only Maul. This was back in the level 20s.

Boy have things changed.

As I said before, I had purchased my feral skills absent mindedly while upgrading my resto skills, so when the time came to me needing to actually tank, I had no idea what each button did except for ...maul and....swipe and bash. The end.

Frenzied Regeneration? Whoa it heals you off of rage, that could be useful. Berserk, where was Berserk on my list now that I think of it, I think it makes Maul have no cooldown? Oops, didn't use it. Mangle? I thought only cats could Mangle, but Bears could mangle too, with a 4.5 second cooldown...odd. I like swipe!

Swipe, swipe, swipe. Maul is not "in use" click it, mangle off cooldown, use it.

Whoa slow down what's going on?

Oh right.

So yesterday I joined a group to run some BC Heroics, and had offered to HEAL my way to the achievements. As the part was formed, 4/5 of us were in either leather or cloth, and only one level 78 warrior who did not really have a tanking spec. But that's ok right?

No, they got squashed. Not as fast as the rest of us, but got squashed.

Dilemme, what do we need? Someone with a shield or a bear. *Looks at Turny*

I was in Feral Kitten Fight mode and ...really with a click of the mouse I could be a bear.

But...my HP is crap. My glyphs are....ok I have glyph of STARFIRE OK?? I don't really use Feral except for quests and it gets the job done, end of story.

Now I do have every single piece of leather for H ToC so technically my itemization is fine, save for some crappy trinkets and random blues from levelling, but my HP *with* the Priest buff was only 21k. Odd. My defense was only 400, and with my current armor, my mitigation was only at about 61% damage is mitigated....is that good or not? I don't know, never read up on tanking or know anything about it save for those few times back in noob-world.

ANYWAYS, I say "I don't think I can do this, but we could try".

Pull, pull. I was healable. Didn't really die. Didn't really know what my buttons did. It was *learn hell-a-fast time*.

So on the next few pulls I just spammed Swipe and went into my spellbook looking for things that looked useful and there I found Mangle, and Frenzied Regen, (I couldn't find Berserk, that completely passed my mind).

We did Heroic Blood Furnace, and Ramparts and it was OMGWTF?

Afterwards, I went back to Moonville and respecced for the tanking talents and now I shall be working on my gear-set.

It is time to practise. In ..normal UK! (Just to be safe)

Healing Addons

This was a long time ago.

Truny was a freshly dinged level 80 Warlock, and all she wanted was an epic wand to make her Ranged Slot look 2% better. That's all. This was back in the day before the emblem changes took place. I think. No maybe not. Who cares.

Heroic Azjol Nerub

We read that and laugh. "Heroic AN? That takes 15 min to finish".

Sure it does.

On my very first toon, upon hitting 80 I did not run a lot of heroics, this was when I started to make my plethora of alts, who are now my mains.

Heroic dungeons were essentially the next step up to Naxxramas 25, no Ulduar or ToC yet.

We get together a group, and a rather epic pally healer joins us. He had GOOD gear. See, gear does not determine skill. Gear determines the raw NUMBER that your character can generate.

ANYWAYS, it is the last boss. Rather annoying. I forgot his name oh yeah Anub'arak. There's heavily hitting poison, adds all over the damn place, aoe bug swarm, spike dodging.

Pretty simple, kill the little adds and focus on the elite adds.

For a healer, you would...err...keep up the tank's health and cleanse poison no?

It was bad.

Very bad.

My perception of this instance had shifted this very moment.

We kept wiping and wiping because either the healer would die from the poison that the Venomancers shot, and while trying to keep himself up everyone else would have died.

Also when Anub'arak did his slammity smash thing. If it only hits the tank, a very well geared tank, this should be healed through or at least from normal healing the tank should be recovered no?

Wow my fried rice has bacon in it! Sorry am eating lunch and is surprised with the food contents! o.O anyways...

So the smash/slam was a minor inconvenience. It was the poison.

"My healbot isn't working" complained our healer.

"Uhh...why not heal it like you know, normal?"

We just could NOT finish the run and bye bye group, bye bye rather odd healer.

I had no idea if this fight was difficult or not as I had never played as a healer healing heroics. Up till then I had two level 80 DPS toons. That's it. If I had logged out and looked at my character screen, Turny my druid, would have been level 22, tanking and damage his way in H RFK.

This fight stuck with me ever since. Was it really that difficult to heal "normally" without these addons?

The answer is: No.

Zoom fast-forward time!!!

Roll some hots on everyone, TARGET the Venomancer to see who THEY are targetting and throw in a cleanse poison on their target and heal-pew-pew.

My only issue with this dungeon is that people do not seem to want to kill the little adds that like to nibble on Turny's butt so I have to throw more HoTs on myself than I'd like to, but otherwise, no addons required. When poison hits, there's a green icon, and analogous to many many other games, green debuffs are usually poison.....especially when the ...poison spitting monster is...you know...spitting poison!

I DID download GRID the other day, because I know that the raid little window boxes that you pull out are insufficient, and apparently HEALBOT is not a robot that makes you heal automatically when someone takes damage......so...yeah....

Turny the RESTO DRUID!

Who am I Healing?

10 Mans.

I haven't been on in a week, accounting midterms.

Obsidian Sanctum. Vault of Archavon.

Easy peasy?

As DPS yes. Just kill.

As a healer, with no real direction with repeated attempts at obtaining direction? Uhh, ok we'll see what happens.

VOA: Wow, everyone ACTUALLY stayed out of the fire. I assumed I was on raid heals but I kept seeing our OT die, and eventually our MT would die.

Was I supposed to help heal? Do we really need two healers? Was the priest healing it just crazy, was I supposed to heal EVERYONE?

This is important to me as I am quite strategic. If I was on tank healing I would actually locate myself with the tanks, and with the DPS spread out some of them will have to get healing from the other healer (Whatever the hell they were doing)

If I were on raid, I'd place myself somewhere in the average middle of everyone so if fire spawns under me I can wild growth, hit some other people as well and walk away.

OS: We had three healers and someone had a name like "godlyhealsforu" so I assumed that they were the godliest healer and I'd be offheals. I couldn't tell if they were a priest or pally, all blood elves look the same, same holy type of character, whatever.

It turns out I ended up healing the entire raid as well as our main tank as my natural reaction to start stacking those HOTs on the person taking the most damage came into play. It was interesting. The fire walls were easy peasy as Druids can continue to move while throwing out HoTs like Trick or Treat!

REMEMBER: A healer is there to replenish the HP you lose in splash damage, and temporary aggro damage. NOT TO HEAL YOU THROUGH CONSTANT DAMAGE IF YOU ARE NOT THE TANK! (Some exceptions may apply say to entire raid damage, which is handleable (is taht a word?))

Don't be a hero! Unless it's to sacrifice yourself to save the healers, that's +5 points on my books!

Truby the Paladin - On Tanking

Yes, the secret is out, I am in the process of making a Pally Tank!

She started out under modest circumstances, the fact that I didn't have a pally.

That was that. I left her at level 9 or so for a few months as I levelled Truny, then Turny.

Two dps at max level, then a healer at max level.

Uh oh, who to level now?

I could work on my Death Knight but....it's just so...melee!

I could work on my Rogue, he is sitting comfortably at 45 but then...Turny is dual-specced for Kitty attacks and it is actually quite strong so going back to my rogue is just like....bleh.

The mage what about the mage.? Yeah what about the mage? She got one level, is at 13 now haha! (What happened to hitting 15 a month back??)

ANYWAYS, Truby the Paladin has picked up great speed. Nevermind how DIFFICULT it is to actually start a 4/5 person group at level 30 but once you find some competent peoples its DING DING DING DING for everyone!

First stop: RFK. Plow through that shit yeah.

Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard. This is just the lure, to get people near the Monastery, because we all know we're doing the Library after and the Library is almost 50% of an exp bar at level 30!

Ding Ding. Level 31, 32. Are we high enough for Armory?

Well, one person was high enough...so we went! And cleared it no deaths or wipes! I gotta love Hand of Reckoning and Consecration! Except when the former misses.

So this isn't really a post on tanking but whatever!

Now is it just me or are there less incompetent players roaming about at the lowbie levels?

Yes I noticed that more or less everyone in the party had BOA gear all up to their hoo-ha's but in general there seems to be fewer and fewer "these people are the CORE of Fail-PUG stories" people.

Even when Turny is healing Heroic Whatevers, everyone seems to be quite good at their classes nowadays and...I am getting distressed by this!

Anyways.....lost train of thought again, BYE!

Truby the Pally!

Why is your Imp on Passive and Excuse Me Where is Your Pet?

Has anyone ever wondered why the Warlock in the group has their imp on passive?

Especially when they are destruction?

You see, we have this ability, where sometimes, when our Imp crits it makes our next attack 100% crittable!

The imp itself, through talents can do a good I think 500 dps on its own (something like that anyways)

Why?

And do some hunters like their pets so much that they have to be AT THEIR SIDE ALL THE TIME?

I don't know.

Will get to the bottom of this!

Feral Druid DPS - I Take it Back

Why?

Because yesterday, I was invited to heal the daily Heroic. Draktharon Keep. Yay, the last boss fight is so randomly weird that even as a healer I can Wrath and Moonfire it when I please.

We form the group and one of our paladins want to try healing as this was his offspec so I reluctantly (though not noticeably) switch into Kitty Cat Scratch mode and off we go.

Oh god.

We finished the instance smoothly because EVERYONE ELSE was doing fine.

Turny ended the instance doing 1300 dps.

....

/Disapproving Nod From My DPS Mains

I am those people that I hate! Geared but can't do shit if their lives depended on it! Nooo!

I was not slacking I was pushing all my buttons keeping my roars and bleeds and mangles up and what not!

I could not keep up! I did not even have any AOE spells!

WAIT OR DID I??

That was when I realized....I probably had not upgraded my Feral Talents in a LONG time.

I would visit the Druid Trainer every once in a while when I knew that the Restoration Tree had another goodie up for sale while I was levelling, like a better Rejuv (yums!) or the next rank of Regrowth (Grow Baby Grow!), but I don't recall upgrading my Feral skills much. Unless they looked or sounded interesting.

So off I go to Thunder Bluff.

Oh my god what the hell?

Lo and Behold:

1.Shred was three ranks behind.
2. Mangle was a rank behind, what the hell is this new??.
3. Rip was a rank behind, where'd this come from??.
4. Rake was a rank behind, really?? The crittable bleed??.
5. I had not even trained for Swipe (Cat). What the hell is this?? Is this new? An AOE swipe that works like BEAR SWIPE OMFG?! When do we learn this?? OMG I have a talent that increases Swipe damage AND reduces its energy?? What the heck? Essentially that was what was going on in my mind alongside being boggled how I missed so many ranks of essential skills o.O

Ok I'm back and apparently, we get this at level 71 T___T...what was I doing during those nine levels to 80??

Healing, and levelling...WITHOUT swipe.

Interesting.

In my own defense all our skills sound the freaking same, though not on the same intensity as Paladin skills....swipe, slash, rip, claw, rake, mangle, scratch, bite, shred, drill, peck.

SO, I shall retain Feral Armaments, forget about respeccing into Moonkin (thank goodness), and try to test out this "new found" ability and see how it goes!

Perhaps....just perhaps, Turny may be my first Melee Class =O

Um, can you guys please stay out of the Whirlwind?

I am not going to heal you if you keep running into the whirlwind.

You know, the natural implications that a whirlwind may suck you to its centre may be a probable reason as to why you are not physically pressing your keyboard buttons to move away from it, but please..stay out of the whirlwind.

You died once to it, I am sure you saw my swirly green swirly swirls hit you then KABAM before Swiftmend, yes Swiftmend, my INSTANT heal can hit, you are dead, you would realize that maybe that attack should not be healed through. Especially when there are other melee players in the team.

My job is to keep the tank alive. Who happened to move away from the whirlwind. Hmm, I wonder why?

So when you run back in and die to it again. Um.
