Truny's Mission is Over

Oops, Truny raided!

But guess what? After moaning and groaning about the Shriveled Heart for a month, I replaced it today. YAY. Ironic, that item was the most likely item to be replaced as well, save for maybe a ring.

Yes, the off-hand you'll see a lot of people wandering around with, Lady Deathwhisper's Scourgelord's Baton.
I lost the nice 50 haste rating from the Shriveled Heart but the hit rating from from this new offhand puts me just 7 hit above the cap, which was very nice for the next battles and it didn't need to be enchanted/gemmed.

So yes, more on this ICC10 run later!

Truny the Warlock - Post Leggings of Woven Death

Yesterday there was a great amount of cheap Primordial Saronites on the AH, 1420 gold each. I swept them up and looked for a tailor to make the Leggings of Woven Death. And with this upgrade my stats jump from:

Bonus Damage: 2525
Hit Rating: 347
Crit Chance: 28.3%
Haste Rating: 569

to

Bonus Damage:2575
Hit Rating: 347
Crit Chance: 28.58%
Haste Rating: 623
Mana Regen: 426

Not too shabby! Next upgrade will most likely be the Frost Emblem belt since it comes with two sockets, and can be socketed again whereas if I upgraded my gloves the overall stats upgrade is lower. If I have 40 emblems today, it would take to next Wednesday to have 60 emblems. Or sooner if I do the weekly raid and be patient enough to do the VoA lotto.

Gear Score Update

HA don't we all hate seeing the words Gear Score? And don't you hate how I use Gear Score to compare toons?

Well, the way I use Gear Score is more of a quantifiable comparison between my own toons.

I know full well their potential.

For example: Truny has a score of 5200. Warlock. Turby the Hunter has a score of 4,750 but his DPS is over 1,500 higher than Truny just for being a Survival Hunter. Imagine the potential of a very well geared Hunter? In short, for Raids my Hunter still trumps my Warlocks, for short bursty burstness, Seed of Corruption and Decimation!!!

In secret, I'm trying to see what the highest possible number I can get out of this system as a non-raider. It looks like this number is around 5400-5500. (All items must be proper and optimal for spec, no cheating with useless trinkets and PVP gear).

Truny on Leggings of Woven Death

Truny is currently wearing Gul'dan's Leggings of Conquest looking to upgrade to the Leggings of Woven Death. Yes, she is noob her pants are only T9.0. Well too bad since I'm not a srs bsns raider those work fine since they are the ONLY piece in all of the Warlock T9 that has haste.

However, things have changed: As long as you are fairly rich, you can buy some of the crafted ICC welfare epics (everything is a welfare epic if you DID NOT receive it in a raid, preferrably hard modes).

Leggings of Woven Death are one of these welfare items. The materials required to craft these pants are:

10 Spellweaves
10 Ebon Weaves
8 Primordial Saronites

The various weaves are no problem, since in a week or so Truny can make enough cloth. Primordial Saronite can sell for as low as 1,400-1,500 gold on our server. Eight times 1,500 = 12,000. Ok fine, about 14,000 gold isn't THAT welfare, but according to our elitist friends if you didn't do it "the hard way, through hard work, with a big group of other hard workers" then you don't deserve it.

Hey I don't deserve anything but as long as you dish out the funds. Hard work? How hard? Knowing what to do when to do it isn't that hard when you know what to do when to do it? It's an achievement?

Anyways, Primordial Saronites, can either be purchased, or exchanged for 23 Frost Emblems. I prefer a mixture of methods since I am too cheap to outright purchase ALL eight of them since the trade-off isn't "worth it". I come from the mentality that "if I can save money, then save money".

What is the net-upgrade from switching to these pants?

Stamina: +31 (SO MUCH HP!)
Intellect: +31 (More MP to Tap, and a bit more crit. Whatever)
Critical Strike: +4. (About +0.10%)
Haste Rating: +64 (+1.34%) that's huge for a single item.
Spell Power: +40 (That's about exactly 40 spellpower)
+1 Blue Socket: That's about equal to approximately exactly one blue socket.

Is it worth about 14,000 gold for this upgrade? If your answer is also: "Why not, it'll help you kill bosses 1-2 seconds faster", then go ahead!

Hero Scores Update

Hello!

I like to compare my three mains in terms of their gear scores and here we go!

Based on WoW Heroes:

Turby (Hunter): 2,407
Truny (Warlock): 2,471
Turny (Druid-Resto Gear): 2,491

Based on Gear Score Addon:

Turby: 4,499
Truny: 4,602
Turny: 4,717 I think.

Poor Turby, other than Bracers he hasn't been finding any upgrades (or being played that much), but don't worry he will keep running Piece of Saron err...Pit of Saron for the Crossbow Upgrade. Nice Icy Crossbow mm!

Good news for Truny and Turny! the IC-10 man icon is WITHIN REACH, they are within the "You should be doing these raids" group and no longer ALL the way at the unreachable end of the Red Bar.

Knowing me I will probably check out the ICC sometime in March and if anything Turny will go heal around in there first.

HOWEVER, just because Truny's gear is "better" than Turby's, Turby's nice stacking Agility makes him much stronger than the Warlock. I found that Turby seemed to maintain a nice 4500 dps in Heroic Frozen Halls instances while Truny would be sitting in the 3000's. It was pretty surprising to see a consistent 4K+ on a character I barely play!

One reason is: Explosive Shot. It continues to do damage even while you are dodging and even while you are pushing the button for your next shot. Essentially Hunters ARE ranged melee. When Melee are in the group with my Warlock everything is dead before two casts, but if they are in the same group as Turby, everything is fine. Instant cast buttons for the win.

Healing Healing. It is fun to leave the "more difficult" mentality of the new Dungeons and Raids when running the Random Dungeon Generator and realize "Oh yes I can go back to writing that novel while I take short flight to Vancouver to buy some pastries while I heal".

Restoration Druid T10 2/4-Piece Bonus

I was reading around on the Restoration Druid T10 set bonuses because it is most likely my Healer will have his gear maxed before everyone else just due to how useful he is and I read:

(2) Set: The healing granted by your Wild Growth spell reduces 30% less over time.

At first that made completely no sense to me. It Reduces 30% what? It reduces what less? It reduces less Over Time? What's Over Time? We work over time and get paid, but we get paid MORE. Then I realized I was reading it completely wrong. It should be "The rate at which the ticks of your Wild Growth spell decrease per tick is reduced by 30%."

OHH. So each tick does more now. Jeez I thought I was going crazy. That's really nice since I like to throw it out there when I see a group of casters without full HP.

(4) Set: Each time your Rejuvenation spell heals a target, it has a 2% chance to jump to a new target at full duration.

YES, even though I did not get my wish for my Warlocks Conflagrate to jump to mobs, but having Rejuvenation jump can help prepare for a swiftmend or someone that I don't have to cast Rejuv on anyways. But then again at a 2% chance what is the chance it would jump to someone who I wouldn't have already pre-casted Rejuvenation on?

However, the Set Bonuses SHOULD be:

(2) Set: The healing done by your wild growth is increased by 300% and its duration is increased by 300% and now targets all raid members. The period healing done by the druid has a 25% to be a critical strike for 150% of amount healed.

(4) Set: Your Rejuvenation spell now hits Six targets, your Lifebloom spell now hits 3 targets and the spellpower portion of its bloom has been increased 600%, your Nourish spell now hits 5 targets and casts a free Regrowth along with it. The duration and healing amount of Regrowth is now increased by 200%. Each time your Lifebloom blooms it has a 20% chance to cast a Lifebloom on another target. Swiftmend will now activate on nine targets and will heal the nine targets with either the shortest amount of time on their hots or with the lowest % of their total HP. The cooldown of Swiftmend has been reduced by 8 seconds. Your Tranquility is a permanent aura that heals the entire raid for 50% of your spellpower, ticks every 5 seconds. The cast time and mana cost of your healing touch is reduced by 95%. Your heals have a chance to shield their target with the Grace of the Earthmother for 30% of the amount healed (at each tick) and has a chance to leave a heal over time for 30% of the amount healed. For each point of HP that you heal, you also deal 125% damage to the recipient of your heal's damage.

There, now I balanced the game out.

T10 Gear Preview/Review

I see that all but the Shaman T10 gear has been released on the blizzard site for us all to ..witness. Here are my thoughts on each of the sets (giggles).

Death Knight: Uhh, have we not seen that before? Spiky helms? Well, it does deviate from T9 and it is pure Death Knightish so...good enough.

Druid: Oh my god. The natural look is nice but uhh, the helmet is umm...antlers of thorns! I see that Druids are really meant to be Game Animals (more on this when I get home to post the next post about Turny), but I am excited to get this ridiculous helmet as it will keep me entertained for probably two weeks! I still prefer it more to the T8 Priestess of the Moon crap.

Hunter: Ok I am sorry but Hunters from what I know wear mail. That is not mail that is wood and leather once again. And what's with the hooves? The helmet may look pretty kick-ass on my Troll...as I always grab the new helms for my toons whenever possible. (The human looks lame)

Mage: Whoa someone took a dip in nuclear waste no?? Nothing really special save for the radioactive gems.

Paladin: Everything seems cool here, befitting of the upcoming Cataclysm with the hint of brimstone but I guess they ran out of PLATE armor and Paladins now have to wear ROBES. OR that is actually a PLATE robe and we are all just waaaayyy behind on armor technology. *Cough*

Priest: What the hell this looks like gear you get at level 20? Done.

Rogue: Biohazard is the word that comes to mind for no reason at all. See for T9 we get free eyes, now for T10 those eyes converge to become one powerful roguey-cyclops eye because depth perception is for noobs! Nice spaulders though.

Shaman: ??. Of course, Shamans ALWAYS get the coolest gear, I remember levelling up and always seeing someone in super ornate gear and knew right away :Shaman. I bet the Shaman gear is made out of pure lightning, it summons bolts of lightning to smite your enemies. The helmet is a swirl of lava and nether essence putting even Warlock gears to shame. The spaulders, oh the spaulders are THIRTY FEET high totem poles with Thrall's face etched onto each section and they rally your party members with the power of the horde every 15 seconds.

Warlock: This set reminds me of an evil Jack-O-Lantern turned alive. Looks more like a Hallowe'en costume I think. It is pretty malicious hwoever. I think everything should be in a beautiful swathe of perpetual flame, though the helmet would look better on my Undead Female rather than this lame Human (yes you can tell)

Warrior: Nice and runic and earthy. The bullhorns for their charging or whatever it is they do in melee fits perfect. Though I just deleted my warrior yesterday to remake a priest (again)...we shall see! (How was that relevant?)

In conclusion, nothing mindblowing but I can just imagine the 200 SP helmets already *drool*
